Saint Clair County Resident Arrested for Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

SAINT CLAIR, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Christopher Mark Gilbert, 19 of Saint Clair, for possession of child sexually abusive material.

Gilbert was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his residence. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Gilbert was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Following the search of his residence, Gilbert was charged with three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material. Gilbert was arraigned in 72nd District Court on Tuesday, August 9.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet. There are many resources available to parents to assist in keeping children safe online. The MSP Computer Crimes Unit frequently investigates offenders who do not use their real names online. Because of this anonymity, news outlets should contact the St.Clair County Jail or D/Tpr/Spl. Jason Bledsoe to obtain a photograph of Gilbert.
