Port Huron Resident Arrested for Aggravated Possession and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

PORT HURON, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Stephen Douglas Hertzfeld, 19 of Port Huron, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.
Hertzfeld was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his dormitory room at St. Clair County Community College. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Hertzfeld was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.
Hertzfeld was charged with one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, three counts possession of child sexually abusive material, and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Hertzfeld was arraigned in 72nd District Court on Tuesday, February 6.
