Oscoda Resident Arrested for Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

OSCODA, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Matthew Ray Throop, 42 of Oscoda Twp, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.
Throop was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his residence. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Throop was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.
Throop was charged with 13 counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Throop was arraigned in the 81st District Court on Tuesday, April 2.
