Melvindale Resident Arrested for Child Sexually Abusive Activity, Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Derrick Todd Paluchniak, 26 of Melvindale, for child sexually abusive activity, accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime.

The investigation was initiated when Paluchniak began communicating on the internet with an undercover detective posing as a child. Paluchniak traveled from the Metro Detroit area to Bridgeport Township to meet the “child” to engage in sexual acts.

Paluchniak was charged with one count of child sexually abusive activity, one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes, and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Paluchniak was arraigned in 70th District Court on Thursday, November 18th.
