Lansing Resident Arrested for Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

Lansing, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Ruben Guillen-Cortez Jr, 27 of Lansing, for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

Guillen-Cortez Jr. was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when MSP became aware that Guillen-Cortez Jr. was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Following the search warrant to his residence, Guillen-Cortez Jr. was charged with one count of aggravated possession child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. Guillen-Cortez Jr. was arraigned in 56-A District Court on Friday, May 13.
