Kalamazoo County Man Sentenced for
Production of Child Sexually Abusive Material

Schoolcraft, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is announcing the sentencing of Ryan Joseph Ahern, 30 of Schoolcraft, for production of child sexually abusive material and computer crimes – use of a computer.
The investigation was initiated by the Fifth District Computer Crimes Unit in Coldwater when a suspect was found to be uploading child sexually abusive material (CSAM) to a cloud account. A search warrant was conducted at Ahern’s residence and digital evidence was seized. An interview was conducted on scene. The Kalamazoo and Van Buren County Sheriff’s Offices assisted with the investigation and search warrant.
Ahern was arrested and was subsequently plead guilty in Federal Court. Ahern was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment on the charge of production of child sexually abusive material on September 7, 2021.
