Ionia Resident Arrested for Child Sexual Abusive Activity and Other Child Sexual Abusive Material Charges

IONIA, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Ethan Eversman, 24, of Ionia, for aggravated child sexual abusive activity and aggravated child sexual abusive material possession.

Eversman was arrested following an investigation which was initiated when a cyber tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Digital evidence was seized from Eversman during the interview. A subsequent search of Eversman’s residence was conducted and additional digital evidence was seized.

Eversman was charged with four counts of aggravated child sexual abusive activity (distributing or promoting), three charges of aggravated child sexual abuse material possession, and seven charges of use of a computer to commit a crime punishable by 10-20 years. Eversman was arraigned in the 64A District Court on June 25.

If convicted, Eversman faces up to 15 years in prison for aggravated child sexual abusive activity (distributing or promoting), up to 20 years in prison for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and 10 to 20 years in prison for using a computer to commit a crime.
