Gladwin Resident Arrested for Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

GLADWIN, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Austin Lucas Bennett, 25 of Gladwin, for possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Bennett accessed files of child sexually abusive material on the Internet. After Bennett’s electronic devices were seized and searched, the 80th District Court issued an arrest warrant for Bennett and he subsequently surrendered to the court.

Bennett was charged with one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of possession of child sexually abusive material, and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Bennett was arraigned in 80th District Court on Thursday, August 12.
