Flushing Resident Arrested for Possession and Distribution of Child Sexually Abusive Material

FLUSHING, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Walter Robert Woofenden, 53 of Flushing, for aggravated possession, distribution of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

Woofenden turned himself in to the court following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Woofenden was sharing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.

Woofenden was charged with one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of distribution of child sexually abusive material, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. Woofenden was arraigned in the 67 District Court on Wednesday, May 29.
