Clinton County Resident Arrested for Aggravated Possession Of Child Sexually Abusive Material

The investigation was initiated when a cyber tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Evidence led to a residence in Laingsburg where Meachen resided. A search warrant of the residence was conducted, and digital evidence was seized.

Following the search warrant of the residence, Meachen was charged with three counts of aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive material, three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and six counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Meachen was arraigned in the 65-A District Court on Friday, July 1.

Aggravated distribution of child sexually abusive material is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Use of a computer to commit a crime which is punishable by 10 to 20 years is an additional felony punishable by 10 years in prison.
