Belmont Man Arrested for Child Sexually Abusive Activity

BELMONT, MICH. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Christopher O’Brien, 67, of Belmont, for child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

O’Brien was arrested following an undercover investigation and search of his residence.

O’Brien was charged with distribution of child sexually abusive material, possession of child sexually abusive material, and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He was arraigned in the 63rd District Court on Friday, November 18.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the Internet. There are many resources available to parents to assist in keeping children safe online.
