Wayne County Resident Arrested for Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

Westland, Michigan. The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit (CCU), Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, is announcing the arrest and arraignment of Paul Collins Lachance, 56 of Westland, for the possession of child sexually abusive material (CSAM).

The investigation began earlier this year, when police became aware of Lachance possessing CSAM online. Further investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his home led to his arrest.

Lachance was arraigned on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the 18th District Court on three counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

The MSP CCU encourages parents to speak to their children about the safe use of the internet. There are many resources available to parents to assist in keeping children safe online. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provides a comprehensive list of resources on their website at http://www.missingkids.org.
